Welcome to North Carolina's High Country. Located in the northwestern mountains of North Carolina, the High Country's abundance of Southern sunshine and lush vegetation creates a virtual paradise for our visitors. High Country temperatures are usually 10 to 15 degrees cooler than the flatlands, making it the perfect destination for summer vacationers and skiers alike. High Country springs are pastel, summers are cool & green, winters are snow white, and autumns are a spectacular feast for the eyes. To compliment our natural beauty, your sojourn is guaranteed to be filled with interesting stops and real mountain experiences. Our area offers legendary attractions like Grandfather Mountain and Tweetsie Railroad, upscale shopping, traditional and fine arts and music, as well as the most photographed spots on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The High Country is easy to reach because it's bordered by Interstate 40 to the south, I-81 to the west, and I-77 to the east. We think you'll find the widening of Highways 321, 221 and 421 will make your journey to the High Country much easier and will perhaps open up a whole new experience for your clientele. We hope to welcome you very soon to our glorious region called the High Country and that you consider our mountains to be old friends you will return to visit again and again. |
